Snack time? Try our homemade Hummus

Homemade hummus is so easy and quick making it a great option for a healthy lunch or snack, just team it up with some fresh vege’s, crackers or bread and you’re ready to go!

The main ingredient is chickpeas, we try to keep a can handy in the pantry so hummus can be whipped up when needed. Enjoy!

1 can of chickpeas
1 teaspoon of minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

LETS GO!

Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Place all ingredients into a blender, start with a tablespoon of olive oil. As the blender mixes the ingredients keep adding olive oil as needed (1 table spoon at a time). Once the mixture is well blended scoop out into a bowl and serve with a sprinkling of smoked paprika and a small handful of pumpkin seeds.

BEGINNER YOGI TIP: Hummus is pretty versatile, you can add all sorts of different herbs and spices to make it a little different. Instead of smoked paprika, try adding 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric to the mix and stirring through some cumin seeds before serving!
