Pecan and Walnut Chocolate Bliss Balls
Pecan and Walnut Chocolate Bliss Balls are dairy, gluten and (refined) sugar free, making them the perfect mid afternoon snack or sweet treat for those of you that must have dessert!
Walnuts contain good levels of omega-3 fats and medjool dates are a great source of iron and potassium, so this is definitely not a guilty snack – more like a smart one.
1 1/2 cups of walnuts and pecans
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract/paste (be careful with paste, it tends to have sugar in it)
3/4 cup of cacao powder
8 medjool dates
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon of water
pinch of salt
This one is easy. Throw everything into the food processor or blender and let it do it’s thing! Once combined and walnuts and pecans are crumbly simply roll into balls and store in a container in the fridge. I like to toast coconut and roll some of the balls in it for added deliciousness.
Feel free to use what ever nuts you like, experiment a little – you cant really go wrong with this base.
